Mid-range Inside the park Safari company

The simpler sister property: chalets on a dam bank with pine forest behind, sharing Chelinda's dining and bar. You get the same drives, the same trout dams and the same night-drive leopards as lodge guests, in a more modest bed. For self-planners it is the practical mid-range way onto the plateau.

Why you'd pick it

  • Chalets looking straight onto one of the Chelinda dams
  • Shared dining room, bar and lounge with fireplaces
  • The same activity menu as the lodge at a lower price point

What's here

  • Bar
  • Campsite
  • En-suite bathrooms

Arranged from the lodge:

  • Game drives
  • Night drives
  • Fishing

Read from Chelinda Camp's own website in July 2026. Anything not listed we could not confirm, which is not the same as it being absent.

What the park charges on top

The rate above buys you a bed. Nyika National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Park entryApproximate, and the one figure on this site we could not confirm.
$10per person, per day
VehicleSomewhere between $3 and $15 by weight class.
$8per vehicle, per day

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $84 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.

Malawi publishes no current tariff for Nyika. Treat both figures as indicative and confirm before you travel.

Rates

Enquire. CAWS publishes no current rate for the camp; it sits below Chelinda Lodge in price and comfort. Ask for both quotes when you enquire.

What the rate covers is not confirmed. We do not know yet whether meals, drinks and activities are included, so read this as the bed only.

Every figure on this page is in US dollars.

Rates are from Central African Wilderness Safaris' own 2026 rate information, gathered July 2026, and from operator websites. Nyika publishes very little pricing. No figure means enquire. Always confirm directly before you travel.
